McDonald's Thursday

This has been a tradition for years now....every Thursday I take the kids to McDonalds. We have lunch or dinner (depending on the time) and I let them play in the playland. This all started because I wanted them to stop asking to go every day AND I also wanted them to learn the days of the week. Plus it gives them something to look forward to.

This has worked out great. They all seem to learn the days of the week really fast! LOL

So this week (today actually) we will have a new little guy from daycare that will be coming along, then there's Mark and Leah of course, and we are going to swing by and pick up Joey. I totally miss having Joey for daycare so I just borrow him once in a while. :) Too bad Alexis and Madison don't live closer.

And here are some playland pics for your enjoyment....LOL

Remember Cracker Jacks?

You know you do!

Carmel coated goodness with peanuts...yum! And a prize in every box. I always thought they should put more peanuts in there though...lol And the prize is a joke or fun fact...remember when they used to put toys in there.

I found them at Walmart in the seasonal row. I had to buy them! They are packaged in the old fashioned little paper boxes, just like when I was a kid.

Great snack for the upcoming Fourth of July.

:)

A little dress up, a little snack, and BAM he's out like a light! LOL

The daycare is almost full, I only have one full-time spot open right now. And I get a lot of drop-ins so the spot gets used for that until I can fill it. I have a few prospects but nobody has signed a contract yet...so it's fair game for anyone to grab up.

I totally love staying home and playing with all the kids...and getting paid to do it is a huge bonus. So now I can say that I get paid for doing something I love. Yeah!

I am trying to keep up with the yardwork. I got the mowing done, but I hate watering on the dry days. I guess I have to if I want a pretty yard. The flowerbeds look awesome, even the neighbors have commented on those. I confess, the landscaper did that for me...lol. But I am in charge of keeping it looking good now.

Today is Thursday so, of course, I took the kids to McDonalds. (Yeah, everyone that knows me already knows that I have a special day just for going to McD's...every Thursday) I take my kids and anybody elses kids that happen to be with me....today Mia and Sierra came with us. They are so cute! And they had so much fun.

And I just want to go on record that I went SHOPPING this week. Yes, you heard it here, I SHOPPED. It doesn't happen often, shopping is not my thing, but Vanessa needed an outfit for a special presentation so we went to Ross Dress for Less. She got three shirts and two pants, and I found two shirts and the cutest pair of shoes....Leah picked them out but they were so cute I had to buy them. So even though I didn't get a lot for myself, it still counts as shopping....yes it does!

Random Day

Today I had three daycare kids. A two year old, a 9 month old, and an 8 month old....it was nice. I can really appreciate and understand why they made a rule that you can only have two kids under the age of two at any given time though...lol. Still, it was nice. I enjoyed my day.

Then I took Coco to the vet this evening for her monthly shot...poor baby. She totally loves going to the vet though. She gets so excited and happy when we pull into the parking lot because she knows she gets to go inside. Everywhere else she has to wait in the car, and she really hates that.

Also, now that I have my daycare license, I am totally allowed to advertise. So I have posted on craigslist, networked with other home daycares in my neighborhood, and asked my current daycare parents to tell their friends about me...I know it doesn't seem like much. But, I am almost full to capacity starting in June. I have plenty of drop-in clients and only one more full-time spot to fill for June. I have someone that wants a part-time spot but I am not really willing to short myself when I could have a full-time income from that spot...now that I'm on my own it's going to have to be a business decision.

I have caught up on Gray's Anatomy too. I watch it online because I never really get to sit and watch the whole thing at one time. It made me sad. I hate when shows do that to me. :(

I am going to catch up on Desperate Housewives now....I hope it won't make me sad but it doesn't look good with the phsyco still on the block looking for revenge against Mike....but whatever, I'm going to watch it anyway.

I tried to call my sister...not sure if she reads my blog...Hey, if you do, CALL ME BACK! I need to talk to you!

Got my daycare license..YEAH!

It's official...I passed my state inspection and I am a licensed daycare owner now. I am so excited! The inspector was here for three hours and only found tow things I needed to fix. One was a missing item from the first aid kit, and the other was a paper I posted that was not fully filled out. Both items are already fixed...and I am good to go!

I am so proud of myself!

Here's my web site for the daycare:

Getting my daycare license

I am getting ready for my state inspection tomorrow. This is the last step in the process of getting my daycare license. I am nervous and excited.

I was over at Walmart tonight collecting a few last minute things...checking my list to make sure I have everything I need. I'm sure I forgot something...lol...I always do. But at this point I am just doing the best I can and not stressing over the little things.

Can't wait to hang my daycare license up on the wall. :)

A recap of all the crap

I am divorced after 13 1/2 years. I didn't even see it coming, it feels like I have had my heart ripped right out. The judge signed the final papers on Friday, it took just over 90 days (yes, I know it must be some sort of record). It sucks, I don't want to be single again. He always said he was working late, but apparently he had other things to do. So now he lives in a rental about five minutes away with his pregnant girlfriend and her kids. So I was dumped for a fat ugly blond chick with tattoos. I have never been dumped before! I don't know how anyone is supposed to recover from something like this, really. So I guess I'll just take care of me and the kids and try to carry on.

And I also had surgery, a complete hysterectomy. I had such bad periods that it was getting unreal, even the doctor was amazed at my massive periods. I also had endometriosis, fybroid tumors, and some other thing I never even heard of...so my period was three times as bad as the worst period you could ever imagine. Fun. Recovery from surgery was not going that great because I wasn't eating much after "he" moved out. The doctors really did not appreciate that becasue I lost a lot of weight, not in a good way. I'm still losing weight, not as much, but I'm trying to eat more and be healthy.

So now I am single, recovering from surgery, and raising kids basically on my own. He sees them every other weekend. I have re-opened my home daycare, so I am also working for myself. Being my own boss is at least working out good for me, I like it a lot.

I'm sure I will be ok, but I don't think I could ever get married again.
